November 27 - Spotlight on Gadir Matar

Born and raised in Canada, Ghadir Matar has always held Lebanon, the homeland of her ancestors, close to her heart. While enjoying the privilege of living in Canada, where basic necessities are readily available, she watched her second homeland endure one crisis after another. This stark contrast compelled Ghadir to take action and stand in solidarity with her people.

Determined to make a meaningful impact, Ghadir embarked on a personal mission to support those in need in Lebanon. She co-founded The Eternal Companion (TEC), a charitable organization dedicated to alleviating poverty in developing nations and Canada. Achieving charitable status in 2024, TEC was able to provide essential support such as food, clean water, clothing, and shelter to low-income individuals and families. In its first year, TEC built a trusted reputation, raising over $100,000. To date, the organization has touched countless lives across Lebanon, distributing vital necessities from the North to the South.

Deeply rooted in her Canadian and Lebanese heritage, Ghadir strives to honor and merge these two identities, faithfully representing both wherever she goes. She takes pride in embodying the values and cultures of each—a unique blend that shapes her journey and defines her perspective.

In parallel, Ghadir is currently pursuing her legal studies, where she channels the same passion and dedication into law school. Her commitment is fueled by a desire to empower others, advocate for justice, and ensure equal access to rights and opportunities. By combining her education with her unwavering devotion to service, she aspires to create meaningful change in the world.
