The National Council on Canada-Arab Relations (NCCAR) unequivocally condemns the recent Israeli airstrikes on Yemen, which have tragically claimed the lives of four individuals and left more than 29 wounded. These attacks represent a grave escalation in the ongoing violence across the Middle East, further deepening the region's humanitarian crisis.
NCCAR is alarmed by the continued cycle of violence that has already caused untold suffering. Millions are facing starvation, displacement, and a critical lack of access to essential services such as healthcare, clean water, and shelter. The intensification of hostilities threatens not only the safety of civilians but also the stability of the broader region.
We strongly urge all involved parties to immediately cease hostilities and commit to a peaceful resolution. The protection of human life and the dignity of all people in the region must be paramount. A comprehensive and just solution, grounded in the principles of international law and respect for human rights, is urgently needed to ensure lasting peace and stability.
NCCAR also calls upon the international community to take decisive action to prevent further targeting of civilians and to support peace-building efforts in Yemen and across the region. We stand in solidarity with the victims of this violence and demand accountability for those responsible for these heinous acts. The time for silence has passed. It is now imperative that the world speaks out in favor of peace, justice, and the protection of innocent lives.
