NCCAR Welcomes the Restoration of Diplomatic Relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Canada
Ottawa, May 25, 2023 - The National Council on Canada-Arab Relations (NCCAR) is pleased to announce its strong support and warm welcome for the restoration of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Canada. Following a five-year diplomatic rift, both nations have successfully returned to their previous state of relations.
This milestone development means a significant achievement in the history of bilateral relations and demonstrates the shared commitment of Saudi Arabia and Canada to foster mutual respect, friendship, and cooperation based on common interests.
As NCCAR's President, Abdullatif Al-Shaikh stated, "The restoration of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Canada is a positive step towards strengthening ties between our two nations. We look forward to building on this momentum to enhance economic, cultural, and political relations between Canadians and the Arab world."
NCCAR extends its commendations to Global Affairs Canada for the appointment of Mr. Jean-Philippe Linteau as the new ambassador to Riyadh. Mr. Linteau brings with him a wealth of experience and profound insights in the field of international relations, with a particular focus on the Arab world. Le NCCAR se félicite du rétablissement des relations diplomatiques entre le Royaume d'Arabie saoudite et le Canada
Ottawa, le 25 mai 2023 - Le Conseil national des relations canado-arabes (NCCAR) est heureux d'annoncer son ferme soutien et son accueil chaleureux pour le rétablissement des relations diplomatiques entre le Royaume d'Arabie saoudite et le Canada. Après une rupture diplomatique de cinq ans, les deux nations sont revenues avec succès à leur état antérieur des relations.
Ce développement marquant représente une réalisation importante dans l'histoire des relations bilatérales et démontre l'engagement partagé de l'Arabie saoudite et du Canada à favoriser le respect mutuel, l'amitié et la coopération fondée sur des intérêts communs.

المجلس الوطني للعلاقات العربية الكندية يرحب بعودة العلاقات الدبلوماسية بين المملكة العربية السعودية وكندا
(اوتاوا، 25 ايار- مايو 2023): يعرب المجلس الوطني للعلاقات العربية الكندية NCCAR عن ارتياحه وترحيبه الكبيرين حول اعادة العلاقات الدبلوماسية بين المملكة العربية السعودية وكندا إلى وضعها السابق، بعد قطيعة استمرت لخمس سنوات.
إن هذه الخطوة تمثل محطة مهمة في تاريخ العلاقات الثنائية، وتعكس التزام السعودية وكندا بتعزيز الاحترام المتبادل وتعزيز الصداقة والتعاون على أساس المصالح المشتركة.
وفي هذا الصدد، قال السيد "عبد اللطيف الشيخ" رئيس المجلس الوطني للعلاقات العربية الكندية: "إن إعادة العلاقات الدبلوماسية بين المملكة العربية السعودية وكندا هي بالتأكيد خطوة إيجابية نحو تعزيز العلاقات بين البلدين الصديقين. ونحن نتطلع لإدامة هذا الزخم لتعزيز العلاقات الاقتصادية والثقافية والسياسية بين كندا والعالم العربي".
ويثني المجلس الوطني للعلاقات العربية الكندية NCCAR على اعلان وزارة الخارجية الكندية تسمية السيد "جان فيليب لينتو" سفيراً جديداً لدى الرياض، لما تتميز به هذه الشخصية الدبلوماسية من خبرة طيبة وحنكة في مجال العلاقات الدولية خاصة في العالم العربي.
إنّ مجلسنا أذ يشيد بالجهود الحثيثة التي يبذلها الجانبان الكندي والسعودي لتقريب وجهات النظر والتوصل الى ارضية تفاهم مشتركة لحل القضايا العالقة عبر الحوار، فإنه يعبر كذلك عن سعادته برؤية ما يجري الان من اعادة بناء لجسور الثقة وتنقية الاجواء بين الاشقاء العرب انفسهم من جهة وبين محيطهم الاقليمي من جهة ثانية، وكان اخرها ما جرى في اجتماعات القمة العربية التي انعقدت في جدة.
وفي ضوء هذه التطورات الإيجابية، يعلن المجلس الوطني للعلاقات العربية الكندية عن دعمه وتأييده الكامل لهذه الخطوات، ويعرب عن استعداده للمساهمة في تعزيز هذه العلاقات من خلال تعزيز التفاهم والتعاون وتبادل الخبرات والمعرفة بين الشعوب الشقيقة والصديقة في الطريق نحو الازدهار والسلام التام لمنطقة الشرق الاوسط والعالم.
