As a non-partisan organization, NCCAR remains firmly committed to fostering dialogue and collaboration with all elected officials and political parties in the interest of advancing shared national values—namely inclusion, equity, civic participation, and democratic accountability. We are particularly focused on policies that strengthen multiculturalism, combat systemic racism and discrimination, and encourage responsible and inclusive foreign engagement.
Mr. Carney’s leadership, informed by his extensive experience in international finance and public policy, represents a notable juncture in Canada’s political landscape. NCCAR looks forward to engaging constructively with the incoming government on key domestic and international policy areas, including immigration and integration, anti-racism measures, Canada’s relations with the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, and the promotion of inclusive and principled global cooperation that reflects Canada's longstanding commitments to justice, equity, and multilateralism.
In line with our mandate and longstanding advocacy, NCCAR reaffirms its commitment to representing the interests and aspirations of Arab-Canadians. We stand ready to collaborate with Prime Minister-Designate Carney’s government in addressing the challenges and opportunities facing our communities, and in supporting efforts to ensure the full civic inclusion of Arab-Canadians in the fabric of Canadian society.
On the international stage, we reiterate our call for a principled Canadian foreign policy rooted in the values of justice, international law, and human rights. In particular, we urge the incoming government to take meaningful steps toward a just and lasting peace in the Middle East, including the recognition of the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people. Canada must play a constructive role in promoting accountability, ending violence, and supporting multilateral efforts for peace and self-determination in the region.
We extend our appreciation to all candidates who stood for public office and to all Canadians who participated in this democratic process. We remain committed to working across all sectors of government and civil society to ensure that the diversity of Canada’s population is reflected in its policies and priorities.
NCCAR is a not-for-profit charitable organization based in Ottawa, dedicated to fostering greater understanding and knowledge among Canadians about the cultural, historical, and socio-economic realities of the people of the Arab world.
