Montreal, Canada - [Jan 28, 2024] The National Council of Canada-Arab Relations (NCCAR) issues a statement urging all parties involved to respect the recent decision by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) regarding the situation in Gaza. 

As advocates for understanding between cultures and for peace, the National Council of Canada-Arab Relations believes that adherence to the rule of law is fundamental in resolving conflicts and fostering stability. 

"The path to lasting peace requires respect for international law, an immediate ceasefire, and the unfettered delivery of humanitarian aid. Let us unite in these efforts to protect lives and build a future of understanding and coexistence", said Rania Hamdan president of NCCAR.

In light of the ICJ's decision, NCCAR calls for an immediate ceasefire in the region to prevent further loss of lives and the suffering of innocent civilians. The protection of human lives is paramount, and we implore all parties to prioritize the well-being and safety of individuals caught in the midst of the conflict.

While acknowledging the ICJ's decision, NCCAR notes that the court fell short of explicitly asking for a ceasefire. Nevertheless, NCCAR calls for an immediate ceasefire to prevent further loss of lives and suffering of innocent civilians in the region. The organization emphasizes the urgent need for unhindered humanitarian aid to reach those affected in Gaza, highlighting the dire humanitarian situation and the essential role of unrestricted access to aid in alleviating the suffering of the population.

Montréal, Canada - [28 janv. 2024] Le Conseil national des relations Canada-Arabes (NCCAR) publie une déclaration exhortant toutes les parties impliquées à respecter la récente décision de la Cour internationale de justice (CIJ) concernant la situation à Gaza.

En tant que défenseurs de la compréhension entre les cultures et de la paix, le Conseil national des relations Canada-Arabes (NCCAR) estime que le respect de l'État de droit est fondamental pour résoudre les conflits et favoriser la stabilité.

"Le chemin vers une paix durable nécessite le respect du droit international, un cessez-le-feu immédiat et la livraison sans entrave de l'aide humanitaire. Unissons-nous dans ces efforts pour protéger des vies et construire un avenir de compréhension et de coexistence", a déclaré Rania Hamdan, présidente du NCCAR.

À la lumière de la décision de la CIJ, le NCCAR appelle à un cessez-le-feu immédiat dans la région pour éviter de nouvelles pertes de vies et la souffrance des civils innocents. La protection des vies humaines est primordiale, et nous exhortons toutes les parties à donner la priorité au bien-être et à la sécurité des personnes prises au milieu du conflit.

Tout en reconnaissant la décision de la CIJ, le CNCR note que la Cour n'a pas explicitement demandé un cessez-le-feu. Néanmoins, le CNCR appelle à un cessez-le-feu immédiat pour éviter de nouvelles pertes de vies et la souffrance des civils innocents dans la région. L'organisation souligne le besoin urgent d'une aide humanitaire sans entrave pour atteindre les personnes touchées à Gaza, mettant en avant la situation humanitaire désastreuse et le rôle essentiel d'un accès illimité à l'aide pour soulager la population.
