Community Iftar & Fundraiser for Lebanon

Join us for NCCAR’s Community Iftar & Fundraiser for Lebanon

Hosted as part of our Dardachat Series, this special evening is more than a meal — it is an opportunity to connect with fellow community members, meet the NCCAR Board, and take part in meaningful conversations about our community outreach and mobilization efforts for the year ahead.

As we gather around one table, we celebrate unity in diversity, welcoming both Muslim and non-Muslim friends, including those observing Lent, in a spirit of shared values and mutual respect.

In light of the ongoing Israeli war on Lebanon, which has displaced more than 700,000 people, this year’s Iftar will also serve as a fundraiser to support organizations working directly on the ground in Lebanon.

Funds raised will support:

Sadr Foundation Canada Equal opportunity for all—regardless of race, color, gender, or social and ideological background—is essential to meaningful service and to the principles of human rights and development. Drawing on the experience of the Imam Sadr Foundation, Sadr Foundation Canada believes that empowering women is a powerful driver of social change and a key step in addressing social injustice. Each year, the organization plans to host a Career Week workshop where young women can hear from female professionals about their career journeys, alongside a mentorship program connecting girls with women who have pursued similar paths. Inspired by the Prophet Mohammed’s (saw) saying, “I and the one who helps an orphan will be together in paradise,” the foundation also launched its first fundraising dinner to support orphans in need and continues to develop future initiatives to assist vulnerable communities. MMKN (ممكن) through the Nada Kadri Fund for Education, supporting students and educational access. MMKN (ممكن), meaning “It’s Possible,” is a Lebanese NGO founded in 2010 by educator Ghada Feghali to expand educational support and community empowerment. The initiative began in 2000 when Feghali noticed that while her students at International College in Beirut achieved a 100% success rate on the Brevet exams, students at a nearby public school had all failed. Determined to help, she organized volunteer reinforcement classes with colleagues and university students, enabling those public school students to pass. What began as a small local effort has since grown into an organization supporting hundreds of public schools and thousands of youth across Lebanon, expanding further since 2019 through partnerships and new programs to assist vulnerable students.
