Today, we stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People — a day recognized by the United Nations since 1977.
For decades, this observance has reminded the world that the Palestinian people continue to suffer displacement, occupation, and denial of their inalienable rights to self-determination, sovereignty, and return.
As Canadians and as Arab Canadians, we believe that solidarity must go beyond words. We call on our government, civil society, and fellow citizens to reaffirm their commitment to human dignity, justice, and peace.
“On this day of global solidarity, NCCAR affirms our unwavering commitment to a just and lasting peace — one grounded in respect for human rights, self-determination, and equality for all. We stand with the Palestinian people in their pursuit of dignity, freedom, and a homeland.” — Rania Hamdan, President of NCCAR
We honour the resilience and courage of Palestinians everywhere. And we reaffirm: recognition of rights must be matched by concrete action — in diplomacy, humanitarian aid, public awareness, and support for peaceful, just, and lasting solutions.
NCCAR calls upon the Canadian government and international community to:
• Respect and support the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people;
• End all forms of collective punishments and support humanitarian relief;
• Promote avenues for peaceful resolution — grounded in justice, equality and international law;
• Raise awareness and mobilize solidarity in Canada and beyond, to give voice to Palestinian hopes and aspirations.
On this day, and every day, we stand with Palestine.
