Born in Nigeria from a Lebanese father and a Palestinian mother, Rana is a Human Rights activist who works towards social justice.
Due to dispossession and many wars, she has traveled extensively living in several countries around the world.
Since her arrival in Canada she has studied at Stanislas high school and then moved on to a bachelor’s degree in communications and public relations at the University of Montreal.
She has worked both for private and public sectors in various fields such as journalism, finance, event planning, contributions and education.
After 15 years with the federal government and 20 years of owning her own business, Rana has chosen a path that enables her to amplify the voice of her people in the Middle-East. Since 2022 she has become the Executive director of Canadian friends of Sabeel an organisation focused on the Palestinian cause and as of late the Lebanese cause as well.
In the past 25 years Rana has donated a lot of her time to community and charity work from school boards and NGOs to charitable organisations.
Amongst her hobbies, Rana has developed a passion for painting and writing.
Self thought, Rana has been exploring various artistic mediums and techniques for the past ten years. As of late she has been using her talent to advocate for the Palestinian cause and to that effect will emphasize her Palestinian heritage to advance her work. Rana uses 100% of her art profits for advocacy and humanitarian aid. With the escalating terror on Lebanon Rana has donate paintings worth over 5,000$ to support fundraising for aid to the Lebanese people.
She uses these mediums to enhance her fight for social justice. Rana is also a wife and mother to twin 18 year old boys and a 7 year old girl. Her family is always her priority as she educates her children to be strong pillars of our society and the future voice of our people.
