Celebrating Arab Women Leaders - October 2018
The Council was a co-sponsor with Gowling WLG law firm for the event “Celebrating Arab Women Leaders” which was held in October 2018. This event attracted over 100 participants from among government, civil society and the private sector to hear Her Excellency Rima A. Alaadeen, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Canada and Her Excellency Souriya Otmani, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Canada, speak to their experience and efforts towards the promotion and advancement of women of Arab origin.
Canada and Palestine Symposium - February 2019
The Council is pleased to have been one of 20 sponsors of the event “Canada and Palestine Symposium: Exploring Canada’s Historical and Contemporary Relationship with Palestine and the Palestinian People, in Canadian External and Domestic Affairs” which was held at the University of Ottawa on February 22, 2019 and attracted over 100 participants from among academics, civil society organisations and senior government of Canada officials.

NCCAR held a Dinner-Seminar with Samah Sabawi at the Jericho Restaurant on December 5, 2019. Samah Sabawi is a multi-award-winning playwright, author, poet and political commentator. Her most recent play THEM was selected for the Melbourne Theatre Company’s 2018 Cybec Electric season and its 2019 sold-out Melbourne premiere was received with high critical acclaim.
Her play Tales of a City by the Sea won two Drama Victoria awards and was nominated for the Green Room Award for Best Independent Production. It had sold out shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Kuala Lumpur, Palestine, and Toronto.
